IN WHAT CIRCUMSTANCE HAS GOD BEEN FAITHFUL TO YOU?

 

According to John 14:2, Jesus has reserved a place for you in his Father’s house. That is comforting news, but now think of a time when God has been faithful to you right here on earth, when he has opened the floodgates of his love. Your memory of it may involve a time when he drew you closer to him, created a miracle for you, gave you hope, guided you, or forgave you. Let today remind you that the height, depth, breadth, and length of God’s faithfulness is immeasurable. Let it confirm to you that he will be faithful to tell you what he has in mind for your life’s most extreme contribution!

 

LET ME COUNT THE WAYS THAT GOD IS FAITHFUL

 

Has God stayed by your side during an injustice? Was he faithful to watch over you during your college partying days, messy divorce, or depression? Did he minister to you throughout a long illness, forgive your rebelliousness, or reward you for your obedience? He is with you when your heart is breaking, your energy is sapped, and your hopes are dashed. He is faithful during trials, temptations, and learning curves. He is faithful in all circumstances, because he created you and loves  you. Linda Evans Shepherd, host of the nationally syndicated radio show, Right to the Heart, has experienced God’s faithfulness in very tangible ways.

 

LINDA EVANS SHEPHERD TRUSTS ALMIGHTY GOD

 

Linda is an international speaker and author of fifteen books, including Intimate Moments with God, which is about women’s changed lives. She also has authored several children’s books. She is the founder of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association) and founder and president of Right to the Heart Ministries, which regularly hosts conferences and publishes an emagazine for women leaders and the women they lead. God has been extremely faithful to Linda. When her infant daughter was profoundly disabled in a car accident a year before her son was born, Linda was a brokenhearted mother. But even in her deepest season of pain, she could sense that the Lord was gifting her with wisdom. Today, her children are teenagers, and she is in a new season of life. God is using Linda in ways she never would have imagined, especially in mentoring other women—which takes a whole lot of wisdom! Linda says, “Wait on the Lord. He will not only heal you, empower you, affirm you, and provide for you, he will also prepare you for the purpose of ministering mercy to others.”

Had Joshua not trusted God’s faithfulness, he never could have marched the Israelites around the walled city of Jericho blowing trumpets as God had instructed him to do. Read Joshua 6:1–20. When have you felt God faithfully leading you with specific instructions?

 

SCRIPTURE TO PONDER

 

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. (Deuteronomy 32:4)

 

SUGGESTED PRAYER

 

Dear Lord, you are my Rock. Your works are perfect, and all your ways are just. You are a faithful God who does no wrong; upright and just are you. You have saved me and started me on the road to maturity. Today I, _________, humbly bow to thank you for your consistent faithfulness. You have never left my side. I ask you to let your grace and mercy flow into me daily, becauseI cannot live without your kindness. I pray that I will never take your continued faithfulness for granted, and that my awe of you will be a powerful testimony for all to hear.
