WHAT ARE TWO OF YOUR BEST PERSONAL QUALITIES?

WHAT ARE TWO OF YOUR BEST PERSONAL QUALITIES?

Nobody likes to brag, so let me make this question easy on you by explaining that it is important for you to know what your best qualities are, so you can maximize them for God's work. In fact, today is really all about identifying how Christ's character traits shine through your personality. Let your answer give you insight about how you can better serve the Lord in your home, workplace, and community. It's okay to "phone a friend" to get your final answer! Then, let God have the best part of you to use as he chooses.

PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD

What's most lovable or admirable about you? Is it your loyalty, responsibility, generosity, focus, authenticity, kindness, or patience? Does God smile at your forgiving, gentle, and encouraging nature; your prayerfulness; your surrendered heart; or your humorous antics? Do others notice your humility, tactfulness, risk-taking, creativity, passion, or perseverance? Is your best quality your respectfulness, reliability, empathy, wisdom, calmness, or ability to laugh at yourself? Or is God most pleased with your honesty, fairness, purity, or gratitude? Sue Semrau, women's head basketball coach at Florida State University, asked her friends to help her answer today's question.

SUE SEMRAU GETS RAVE REVIEWS

As the women's basketball coach, Sue engineered a turnaround of the Seminole program at Florida State. After only her fourth season, she was named Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year.

Sue feels that her godly platform of athletics is indeed an exciting one. She gets to use some of her favorite tools—a leather ball and a hardwood court—as her opportunity to reflect Christ and share the gospel. She resonates with the words of Francis of Assisi who urged believers to "preach the gospel always, and when necessary, use words."

Colleagues praise Sue's lifestyle of integrity, saying that she sets high standards and refuses to compromise her character in any situation. In addition, Sue's friends feel that she has a genuine compassion for people that goes beyond logic to meet needs. She says, "When I'm conscious of who I'm representing, I best reflect that which Christ himself has cultivated in me. I strive to be the same person privately and publicly."
