Let Us Pray
LET US PRAY
Prayer (in Jewish/Christian tradition, anyway) has been around for a long time at least 4,000 years. Yet for all that experience, prayer is still something that's pretty hard to get a handle on. It is ultimately a mystery. God is a mystery, certainly that we can communicate with God is even more a wonder. But through the centuries, many people have experienced that mystery and have found it well, wonderful.
This has been an astonishing experience for generation after generation because of what prayer is and what it does. Before we can look at the mechanics of prayer, we need to understand exactly what we're talking about when we use the word "prayer."
