The Nuri Granth - The Cups of Pison

The Cups of Poison

In the abode of worldly pleasures,

There be innumerable evil effects:

Full of deceitful actions is the world.

And full of false outward show it is;

Create within you, longing for the Lord and go and sit,

At the feet of the Beloved, says Nuri!

These sorrows and sufferings,

Are but the gifts of the grace of the Beloved!

These ferocious fires,

Are but the currents emanating from the beloved!

O dear one! See the cups of poison are here,

Go and drink them, at the feet of the Beloved, says Nuri!
